First off, the way internet art was discovered by accident is one of the greatest things in my opinion. The fact that something went wrong which resulted in random stuff, only to spot one word that says net.art is an awesome origin story. It feels like the superhero of art that fell into a vat of acid and came out super special. Also I always forget how young the internet still is. There's a section where it says how relatively uncluttered the internet was in 1994 which caught me off guard because that was only a few years before I was born and the birth year of my older sister. Looking back, even in the early 2000’s the internet felt somewhat empty. But looking at the sheer creativity of some of these artists is incredible. The work that was created by Heath Bunting is awesome because not only was it creative, but he was originally an analyst turned artist. His work with the Kings Cross Phone-in is actually really well done. People called in from 36 different phone booths around the train station which ultimately led to a musical intervention and disrupted the daily routine of transportation hubs. First off, I think it's awesome when people in the analyst type work and techy jobs try their shot at art. You can almost always expect something really fascinating. Next, the fact that such things could be accomplished when the internet was this young is super cool. What I would give to be an adult in the early internet era. I could keep writing about this but I would go on forever so I’m going to stop here. What a fascinating article!
